Can You Explain the Different Types of House Extensions? 

Of course. There are three main types that we design and construct for our Camberley and Farnborough clients, with each available in both single- and double-storey options where appropriate. 

Side-Return

Spreading outwards from either side of your home, side-return extensions make perfect additions for new kitchens, play rooms, home offices, and guest bedrooms. Once they don’t exceed half the original width of the property, they can be constructed without planning permission under permitted development. 

Rear-Facing

More suited to families who favour open-plan living, rear-facing house extensions generally incorporate new kitchen, dining, and social areas whilst blending the interior with the patio and garden areas via bifold doors. They can also be built under permitted development once they don’t exceed predetermined sizes. 

Wraparound

These incorporate the best of both worlds, joining side-return and rear-facing extensions to envelope your property in an L-shaped construction. Internally, the sky’s the limit when it comes to usage as wraparound extensions dramatically increase floor space.
